Privacy policy
Last updated 2 November 2026
This policy explains what information Retracify collects when you install and use the Retracify app for Shopify (“the App”), how we use it, and the choices you have. Retracify is operated by [Company legal name], [Registered business address] (“Retracify”, “we”, “us”). For questions, write to support@retracify.app.
Information we collect
When you install the App, Shopify gives us access to your store through the permissions you approve. We collect only what the App needs to record and undo changes:
- Store details. Your store’s myshopify domain and Shopify store ID, the plan you choose, and your app settings.
- Catalog and content data. Products, variants, collections, pages, blogs, articles, metafields, metaobjects, sales channel and market listings, and market (price list) prices. We keep a current copy of each item and a history of every change to it, with the values before and after.
- Activity records from Shopify. Shopify’s store event log, which can include the name of the staff member or app that made a change.
- Staff information. When someone on your team uses the App, Shopify shares basic account details with us, such as name, email and user ID, so the App can sign them in. When a staff member reverts a change, we record their name so the history shows who did it.
- Technical data. Webhook delivery records, server logs and error reports sent by the App’s pages, which can include an IP address and browser details.
We do not collect customer or order data. The App does not request access to your customers, orders, checkouts or payments, and it does not add anything to your storefront.
How we use information
- To provide the App: build your change history, show before and after values, and write earlier values back to Shopify when you ask for a revert.
- To check your subscription status with Shopify and apply your plan.
- To keep the App secure and working, fix problems and answer support requests.
We do not sell your information, use it for advertising, or share it with data brokers.
Legal basis (EEA and UK)
For store data, we act as a processor on behalf of the merchant, who is the controller. Where we act as a controller, for example for staff account details and support emails, we rely on our legitimate interest in providing and securing the App and on our contract with you.
Sharing
We share information only with:
- Shopify, which provides the platform, sign-in and billing for the App.
- Our hosting provider, [hosting provider, e.g. Railway / AWS], which stores the App’s database in [data region].
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
Retention and deletion
- While the App is installed, we keep your change history. Your plan sets how much of it you can see.
- When you uninstall, we keep your data for a short time in case you reinstall. We delete all of it within 30 days of the uninstall, or sooner when Shopify sends us a store deletion request.
- Shopify’s customer data requests and customer deletion requests have nothing to act on, because we hold no customer data.
Security
Access to your store uses tokens issued by Shopify, which we store encrypted. Data travels over HTTPS. Access to production systems is limited to the people who run the App.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, or to object to how we use it. To make a request, email support@retracify.app. Merchants can also delete all store data at any time by uninstalling the App. If you are in the EEA or UK, you can complain to your local data protection authority.
International transfers
Your information may be processed outside your country. Where the law requires it, we use appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
Children
The App is a business tool and is not directed at children.
Changes
We may update this policy. When we do, we change the date at the top of this page, and for material changes we tell merchants in the App or by email.
